Beloved, … God’s Bible Trumps

Dropping tiny seeds of creeping doubt, bitterness here, a bit there, both far and wide,

sowing your spikey Wickedpedian errors, prickly thistles of a favorite, blind guide,

thorny knowledge, freely tossed about, hoping for weak ones to err to your thorny side,

turn, Beloved with shredded heart, lest your favored thorns among which you hide

finally become that scarred, thorny hill upon which you alone must ever

reside…

God bless you… Return to Him.

Orange to many, red to others.

“Grief” say many, “Relief” say others.

Some, with greatest dread and many tears to shed,

stay in bed, saying, “Now, we’re all dead!

The great lion’s roaring!”

Others though, filled with great relief, look on with disbelief,

cheer the chief, saying, “What’s their beef?

The great eagle’s soaring!”

The one thing, you see,

of which they can agree

is that they totally disagree,

Now, … a Short Break…

He, this crude, very efficient tool,

(said with really no disrespect intended),

was drawn from the deck for this short rule,

(now, creeping, ugly evil is somewhat suspended.).

Any guesses as to Who it was that placed this card,

this card so smartly, entertainingly trumping all others?

He surely hears the cries of this nation’s weak sin-scarred,

while so patiently waiting for US, before He finally thunders.

Out of Sight, Out of Christ? No!

“We all need Jesus.  Do you want to be saved?

Then say the prayer, after your hand is raised.”

I raised my hand two Sundays but was unseen,

but on the third Sunday, now, was finally seen.

We prayed.  God be praised!  Now, I’m saved.

But what if you and I were never ever seen?

Wouldn’t that be just so mean, so obscene?

But you and I are saved by faith in Christ,

surely not by the pastor’s good eyesight,

and certainly not by any prayer we say.

For it’s by faith in Christ that we’re saved.

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  Romans 10. NIV
